Finding the right photographer for your wedding can be a daunting task. There are a lot of us out there offering our services, so a wide range of styles and skills, prices and personalities is to be expected. Getting the right balance between all these factors remains the challenge.
As you might see from this website, my background is with landscape photography. I've been exploring my backyard of British Columbia and the wider world at large for over two decades in this pursuit. More recently, as friends and peers have started to get married, I've been called upon to be their photographer. And what I first thought would be an unenviable job turned out to be just the opposite: being tasked with capturing these intimate celebrations of love and commitment has been an honour and privilege. To be a part of making such cherished memories has been hugely rewarding.
My approach is to be easy going yet poised. A lot is on your plates leading up to the big day, so the last thing you need from your photographer is more stress. I want to make you feel relaxed and present, so that I can better take images that reveal your best selves. Beyond the aesthetic qualities, I aim to capture those candid and fleeting moments that say something special about you and your day. Traditional or casual, posed or dancing, rain or shine - my many years of experience shooting in the field under all conditions has me well prepared to adapt accordingly and make it count.
I'm based on beautiful Salt Spring Island, B.C. If you're planning your wedding here, then all the better - but I love to travel too, and I should be able to accommodate any requests within Southwestern B.C. Wedding packages start at $2500. Additions such as pre-wedding day engagement sessions, drone work and extended photo coverage on the day are welcome possibilities. Please don't hesitate to get in touch for further details and a tailored quote.
